In the realm of the mind, three afflictions reside,
Kama, Krodha, Lobha – in darkness they hide,
Born of desire, passion’s fiery embrace,
They weave their illusions, a treacherous chase.
Kama, the first, desires uncontrolled,
A thirst for pleasures, a tale so old,
Chained to cravings, seeking endless gain,
Lost in the mirage, true peace they can’t attain.
Krodha, the second, anger’s burning flame,
A fury unleashed, virtue it maims,
Distorting reason, clouding the sight,
Leaving a trail of destruction in its might.
Lobha, the third, my greedy clutch,
Grasping and hoarding, never too much,
Infinite wants, insatiable thirst,
Trapped in possessions, their hearts do burst.
But fear not, for there’s a way to mend,
To rise above these afflictions’ trend,
Through self-awareness and inner grace,
Their hold on the soul, we can erase.
To conquer Kama, let detachment lead,
Perform your duties, but fruits concede,
Be content in the present’s embrace,
Find joy in giving, not selfish chase.
To tame Krodha, practice patience’s art,
Forgive and let go, let love impart,
Calm the storm, the tempest within,
With compassion, a new journey begin.
To overcome Lobha, seek a higher aim,
The path of selflessness to break the chain,
Share your blessings, let go of greed,
A heart unburdened, a soul freed.
With these afflictions dismantled and undone,
A radiant transformation will be spun,
A mind at peace, a soul set free,
Embracing truth and inner harmony.
With Kama, Krodha, and Lobha no more,
Life’s wisdom and love will surely pour,
A joyful existence, a tranquil mind,
In unity with all, true bliss we’ll find.
